Seasoned healthcare workers provide essential care to Sanpete residents

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) recognized Wesley Crouch and Barbara Hyett with Impact Awards for their many years spent providing healthcare to rural Utah.

Wesley Crouch is a pharmacist working at Sanpete Valley Hospital. He has saved his patients $3 million over the last 7 years working with the 340B Program. This is a federal program that allows eligible hospitals and clinics to get medication at significantly reduced prices. This saves patients money on needed prescriptions. Wesley’s supervisors describe him as determined, tireless, and very knowledgeable about medications. 

“He is respected by his peers, admired by his coworkers, and loved by his patients,” said Aaron Wood, CEO of Sanpete Valley Hospital.

Barbara Hyett has been a registered nurse at Gunnison Valley Hospital for 34 years. She is an intensely hard worker, never cutting corners and always giving superior care to her patients. She is also a respected mentor.

  “Everyone asks for Barb. There is a constant waiting list of nursing students wanting to complete their training with her,” said Jodi Mckinlay, the Chief Nursing Officer. “There is a constant waiting list of nursing students who want to complete their clinical hours with her.”

Wesley Crouch– Pharmacist

Wesley Crouch is a Pharmacist at Sanpete Valley Hospital in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He has worked at the hospital for the last 15 years, and lives in the nearby town of Ephraim.

Gunnison Valley Hospital, Gunnison, Utah  

Barbara Hyett is a Registered Nurse at Gunnison Valley Hospital in Gunnison, Utah.  In her 34-year career, Barb has helped deliver hundreds of babies, saved countless lives and worked dozens of 60-hour weeks.
