Nichole Harward won an Impact Award from the Office of Primary Care and Rural Health. She works at Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield as an employee health and infection nurse. Thanks to her hard work, the hospital has had zero healthcare-associated infections for the past 5 years. Harward has protected patient and worker health at the hospital for 34 years.
“Our hospital’s amazing record of preventing healthcare-association infections is a remarkable achievement,” said Angel Roundy, chief nursing officer, Sevier Valley Hospital. “It speaks volumes about Harward’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety”.
“Harward has a gentle touch, from debriefing on incidents to administering vaccinations,” continued Roundy. “Her ability to deliver painless vaccinations makes Nichole her colleagues’ first choice to give them when it’s their turn to receive the influenza vaccine.”
Harward also sits on the board for the Central Utah Public Health Department. In this role, she helps write health rules and sets up flu shot clinics. Her knowledge and dedication to keeping people safe make her a great role model for her community.
