A rural health hero from Cedar City honored for his impact

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), awarded Garrett Galt with an Impact Award. Galt, a family nurse practitioner at Intermountain Cedar City Hospital, was recognized for establishing a highly successful Diabetes Clinic that achieved top patient satisfaction scores just six months after opening. 

“Garrett is caring in the work he does. He provides exceptional, specialized care for diabetic patients in our area.” said Rachelle Hughes, Marketing and Communications Manager at Intermountain Cedar City Hospital.

Galt and his team opened the Intermountain Cedar City Diabetes Clinic mid 2023. The clinic already received the 2023 Patient Experience Award of Excellence. This award recognizes programs ranked in the top 5% in the nation for patient satisfaction.
